Mandorlo in fiore, the festival of almond blossom

The Almond Blossom Festival was conceived in Naro by Count Alfonso Gaetani in 1934 and was ardently sought in order to better market typical Sicilian products. This festival occurs during a time of year when the climate is mild and though it is not quite spring, the landscape is spring-like, characterized by almond trees that show off their splendid flowers. Since 1937 the festival is also celebrated in Agrigento and involves folk dance groups from all over the world.
